Despite the importance we attach to a clear and reliable release management, sadly we have to announce to you that we postponed the release of ETIM 8.0 with 2 months until the 2nd of November.
Faced with many last minute entries before the closing date for requests, in the beginning of June we started the challenging task to process and finalize the last 1472 change requests on a total of 8500 since the release of ETIM 7.0 in September 2017. We were well on track of managing everything in time, but in the end there were too many open requests remaining that had quality issues, that need to be discussed with the requester and with other country organizations.
Since the model quality is our first priority, we had no option then to choose for a delayed release, to allow us the time for a proper review and discussion. From the 1st of October 2020, we will start the beta release period (final check by ETIM users for possible errors) until the 31st of October. Final release of ETIM 8.0 will then be published on the 2nd of November 2020.
