Introduction

To offer services to members, partners and/or visitors and to represent their interests properly, it is necessary that in some cases we process your company-/organization- and/or personal data. We respect your privacy and take care that all your personal data are treated confidentially. Who we are?

The non-profit association ETIM International is a partnership of national ETIM organizations and has its official seat in Margraten, the Netherlands. We develop, manage, promote and support the ETIM technical information model (product classification) and related standards.

What data does ETIM International process, when and how do we use them?

ETIM International processes personal data of persons at companies/organizations. We get these personal data because your company/organization uses our services and/or because you have provided these to us yourself.
Below you can find an overview of the data we process of our relations:

  • First- and last name
  • Company/organization name
  • Address data
  • E-mail address
  • Website address
  • Other information that you actively and voluntarily provide, for example in your bio on our community website, in correspondence and by telephone

These data are collected with your consent, when you register to get access to any of the following offered ETIM International tooling:

  • ETIM CMT (classification management tool)
  • ETIM MMT (modelling management tool)
  • ETIM BMEcat certification tool
  • ETIM community website
  • ETIM Viewer
  • ETIM API
  • Subscription to ETIM newsletter

Your data are only used for the user account management of these applications, to send notifications if requested by yourself or in case of the newsletter to provide you with news topics regarding our activities.

Sharing personal data with third parties

ETIM International will treat your personal data confidentially and will not share your personal data with third parties.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

ETIM International will save your personal data as long as you are a registered user of one or more of our applications that require login or subscription. If you no longer want to receive newsletters, you can file a request to be removed from our mailing list. User accounts (including related personal data) will be deleted at your request or if you are no longer entitled to have access. Please notice that some of your personal data might still be visible in posts, discussions, change requests or related
logs, that you initiated or in which you participated. There is no limit to the storage period of personal data, unless you request us to destroy these data, in which case we will comply with your request within the shortest possible time.

Your rights in relation to personal data

At all times you have the right to view, correct or remove your personal data. Also you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by ETIM International. You also have the right to data portability, which means that you can request us to view the personal data we have. To be sure that the request is done by you, we can request identification.

ETIM offers an online tool that validates your XML-files against the ETIM BMEcat Guideline and the ETIM classification. Once your file is successfully validated as error free, you can download a certification document. The online ETIM BMEcat certification tool is free of charge but exclusively available to ETIM members. For more information or login credentials, please contact your local ETIM office.
